That is just not how it works at all, people can make the best of the situations that they are in. Very few people, if any can control the situations that they find themselves in.
There are things like responsibility and commitment that can sometimes get in the way, finances can get in the way, some other person can get in the way. The workings of everything else can just simply get in the way. There be no intent for one action to impinge on another but it might anyway. Reality...
