Death...
Why can't we deal with death? We understand that dying is the one thing we're going to get in life but when someone dies we are overcome with emotion and we don't understand why this happened as if the people we care about should be able to avoid it. Is it more the mental dawning that someone who adds something to our lives won't anymore or is it that we realise that one day we're going to close our eyes and our hearts are going to function no more? Is it that someone who we've supported doesn't need us anymore? Is it that death is the one unknown, we don't want that someone to face the unknown alone? Then we return to this fear of loneliness and the unknown - is the seeming difficulty to accept death really the failure of the human mind or is it the natural fear of loneliness and of the unknown that all humans share?
I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud...
