Assumption...

Why do I assume people are intelligent on face value? I do not for a moment believe I am a genius, however I am not stupid and I like to think people extend me the decency of granting my intelligence. I have always treated people with the sense and sensibility of the world. This assumption that people hold this mental capability has been a failing on my part and only with the performance of a young professional couple did I see the error in my ways.
